Welcome! Welcome. Welcome in. Well, come in.
Here you can apply for membership to enter the Newscast studio and join in on the fabulous RP world which lies within. Since this process is still experimental, please be ready to jump through hoops, fall down holes, and fight large lizards with heads like Gene Shalat.
All set? Here we go.
First, please read the following general rules, as stated by the one and only Terd Burgler:
1. When you become a Newscast member, you're a member for life. The only way out is death. And trust me, it won't be pretty.
2. The whole purpose of Newscast is to have fun. Things like the laws of nature or physical limitations can be discarded if you'd like as long as you keep things interesting and fun. Killing off a main bad guy with a single, effortless blow is not fun. Neither is magically dissapearing out of any difficult situations and being generally lazy about the perdicaments you are placed in. However, the occasional sub-space anomoli which results in a hoard of ninjas ready for battle is acceptable. Just keep it fun!
3. Respect your fellow crew members. As such, you must respect their character and anything you make them say or do should be as accurate as you can possibly manage. If you ever have a question about a character, read up on them, or ask them yourself! They'll be glad to tell you how they would react to a situation, and all the evidence you need is available on the site. Again, you may have a certain character occasionally act out-of-character, but only as long as it is tastefull and does not have a lasting effect on their character. Of coarse, it is impossible to be 100 % accurate all the time, and we don't expect you to be. Just respect that they have an established character, and try to keep it as close as you can.
4. This is a Role Playing Game, and all the rules of an RPG apply. If you as a person knows something, that doesn't mean that your character knows it. If your character is not exceptionally strong, she's not going to be able to pick up cars willy-nilly. If your character is not meant for fighting, she will not be able to go one-on-one with a fighting character and stand any sort of chance. It's all standard practice, but we must clarify that you stick to your character. Of coarse, a character may change over time, and that's acceptable, but don't make your character a 10-year kendo champion the day after a mob starts to attack the studio.
Now then, perhaps you can tell us a little about yourself?
1. Name
2. Age
3. Class
4. Breif description of characters' personality
5. Why do you want to join? (i.e. what is your characters' motivation for joining the crew)
I think that should do it for now. Any additional information you wish to add is fine though. If you would like to tell us his/her backstory, some abilites, etc. Please feel free to doso. But remember, the best advice to join the RP is to prove you can play it well. If you wish, you may chose a spot in the RP already played and make a sample post for us to show us what you can do (enter it in General Discussions under the Samples thread).
Good luck!
