Hmm. Applications... *scratches her head, fingering the rather battered papers. Coffee stains are the most identifiable smudges on the wan pieces of paper. A single tumbleweed crafted of these same papers blows past, whistling something about the lonely days of the west.* I guess I.. apply here?
*A shuffle of feet. The girl almost entirely consumed by a dirty black coat hums and mumbles to herself, poking with one pale finger at the paper while the other hand is jammed firmly in an open space of an already overflowing pocket.*
I.. guess I should get a pencil or.. something.
*Her attention is drawn to her pockets, a thorough search thereof rendering up an ignored umbrella and a whimsical alarm clock. It resembled a fat, smiling raccoon in black and dark cinnamon browns. The paint was scratched down to the burnished metal, and the clock was so battered it probably only correctly told the time twice a day.*
*She sticks a pencil back into her pockets with other hand as she places the clock on the counter near the stack of papers. It stares at her until embarrassed, she remembers the pencil she dug out in search of the clock and sits down gingerly on a rickety chair. She draws the coat closer to her, and unhooks the umbrella which she places to the side of the desk.*
Whats that? Oh.. yes. I forgot. It's rude.. *her voice trails off for half a minute, eyes glazing. The clock starts to ring, awakening her. An eerie whisper surrounds her, mumbled words from the shadows and dark places cast by her eclectic assortment of objects. *
It's rude not introducing myself properly.

Name: Sharlene Watcher
Age: 24
Class: Human/Shadow Summoner
Summary: Sharlene isn't exactly a wallflower nor normally shy but since she has lived mostly inside her own mind for a large part of the childhood and adolescence, she finds it hard to relate to the 'real' world. It's a totally alien environment to her. However, as her internal world was relatively fantastic, she has a high threshold for chaos.
Sharlene hears voices. Thankfully, these are more the helpful kind that resulted from a manifestation of her magical talents. Sharlene talks to inanimate objects since that's easier than talking to real people. The shadows that follow her around have over time developed their own intelligence and personality. There are three of them. Well... technically four, but nobody likes to talk about her. She's creepy.
Sharlene wears a coat of infinite pockets. It's a regular black hooded coat, worn in places but well taken care of. It's a bit too warm for summer, but she is very seldom seen without it regardless of the weather. It doesn't actually have infinite pockets, but it has a profusion which are filled with random odds and ends.
The shadows are anchored to the items Sharlene totes around. The clock, the umbrella and the coat. They can move several rooms away from their items before being snapped back, and if defeated (not destroyed) they snap back to a dormant state inside their anchored objects.
The shadows are usually invisible, perceptible as eerie whispers or glowing eyes in dark corners. They usually manifest as objects or animals about the size of a teddy bear or large book. but can briefly manifest as silhouettes of the people Sharlene see all the time. They are usually distinguished by their eyes, which are different colors as shadows, or the shapes or animals they frequently take. They can speak to others than Sharlene, but they all sound the same.. just a hollow, sepulchral echo.
Arik- Gold eyes (Spider)
Jacob- Blue eyes (Raccoon/Book)
Seth- Red eyes (Lizard)
Backstory: (Brief version)
Sharlene wasn't born with autism, but early in life she developed early symptoms. Her family, as she was an only child, consisted of harried parents running between jobs and unable to cope.
Sharlene turned inward, and spent most of her life in her internal world. Occasionally, she would be jarred out temporarily.. but the world was screaming insanity and she soon retreated. It was only when her shadows developed sentience of their own that they started slowly drawing her out of her shell.
This was years ago. Entering her adult life, Sharlene has developed a small working knowledge of the outside work. Enough to be functional. The shadows advised applying for an internship with Newscast because of the probability that strange things would happen. Strange things are comforting. Weird things are sane.
It's normality that terrified her.
