Post by Lone and Shiinto on Nov 18, 2004 22:04:40 GMT -5
Name: Max Raine, but now he only answers to Lone or sometimes Lonewolfe. Position: Sports Age: Around 160, he has stopped counting. Race: Anthropomorphic fox (Check Altavista or Google if you don't know what it means) Hair: Semi-long Dark red hair on the head. Covered in red, black and white fur. Eyes: Missing, now always wear a blindfold to cover the scars. Gender: Male Height 6"5'
Destinguishing features: He has a pair of black angel-ish wings and an about 3' long tail. He wears a black leather coat. (There will be a couple of new features added to Lone's look in a hopefully not to distant future in the main RP so be prepared =) They are related to him and Shiinto learning more about Lone's powers, so much I can reveal =P)
Lone comes from a different dimension than ours. He was sent to this world to kidnap Ayame and bring her to his homeworld Zamkai. However he ignored these orders after meeting Ayame because her sweet carefree personality reminded him of his long dead soulmate Iona. In his own dimension he had been a genetically modified soldier called "Angel of Death", labeled S-AoD-04 in the experiment. This explains his long life. He had repressed that side of himself before coming here but when Ayame died he couldn't hold it back any longer.
Lone is usually a happy, funloving guy, but there are times when his anger takes over.
Refusing to let an old man commit suicide many years back, saving the soul by fusing it with the magical sword the man was guarding, he became the new guardian of it. Since the old man was able to speak even in his new state Lone named the sword Shiinto after the man. Shiinto looks like a straight katana with a black hilt and a black scaffold. When he is placed in the scaffold the sword looks like a staff. It is about 4' long and the blade is 3 of those.
Recently Lone and Shiinto developed a technique together where Shiinto was given a small (so far only three inches tall) body. It was planned that he were to aid Lone in battle but the size seemed to make it difficult, however Shiinto managed to change the shape and size of his foot when he kicked Lone in the face as a way to prove that he was of use anyway.

Post by Cat-Girl Ayame on Nov 19, 2004 4:41:40 GMT -5
Name: BMHP-0096 a.k.a. Ayame Position: Co-Anchor Age: (unknown) but she appears 20 Race: Bio-Android Hair: Pink Eyes: Brown Gender: Female Height: 5' 4"
Distinguishing Features: Ayame has large mechanical "cat-ears" on the side of her head that serve many purposes, including radar tracking and emergency energy stores. They also move like cat ears to reflect her mood.
Ayame was created in a distant galaxy as a prototype of a new series of Android that was able to mimic humanoids in most every way. She was dropped on her head during one of her shiping processes and as a result, she has emotions and feelings.
Ayame's outlook is extraordinarily positive and cheerful, which can sometimes be a source of great annoyance to the other members of the crew. Her bubbling personality and boundless energy are what made her notorious across the universe, and a target for many bounty hunters and treasure hunters. Additionally, she has a tennancy to be quite unintentionally destructive.
However, Ayame always means well and would never turn her back on a friend. She is fiercely loyal even to those who have attempted to kidnap her or kill her (as in the case with Moero and Lone) and has a crush on Terd.
Ayame's Motto: "Stand by my side, there's nothing to hide! Together we'll fight till the end. Take hold of my hand and you'll understand what it truly means to be friends!"
IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION!
Ayame's vital fluid (somewhat resembling oil) is called Maras.
Ayame is fluent in Sestinian the native language of Sestis, her home planet.

Technically, Ayame would be a gamoid, because android means specifically a male robot. (the roots andr meaning "man," gam meaning "woman" and oid meaning "-like")
Name: Moero Position: Weathergirl Age: 26 Race: Cyborg Hair: sky-blue Eyes: Currently dark blue Gender: Female Height: 5' 6"
Distinguishing Features: She has a LOT of hair, which is all "naturally" colored sky-blue. She has a computer chip in her brain, implanted there by her father (a mad scientist type) who was trying to give her the ability to protect herself. He succeeded... but with a lot a side effects.
The computer chip changed her hair color first of all... it also allows to her see with practically hawk-like vision, and detect subtleties in atmostphere, causing her to be an unnaturally accurate weather predictor. Due to intent, it made her a lot stronger than she looks.
However, Rev infected the chip with a virus, which activates when Moero feels a particularly strong and negative emotion (usually anger or fear). The virus causes her eyes to glow red and enhances all of her senses, and gives her the ability to perform physical feats otherwise impossible, even for her (such as jumping great heights, running very quickly, etc.) The virus also diminishes all common sense, ethical inhibitions and rationality.
How much of this her co-workers know depends on what they've been able to figure out.
Anyway, after moving out at the age of 16, she became an intergalactic bounty hunter, which brought her back to earth and to Newscast, in search of Ayame. While "battling," her ship was destroyed, forcing her to take the first job available in order to get money to rebuild her ship practically from scratch.
When she got enough money to have a new ship built, she got in a lot of trouble with her erstwhile employer, The House of Flying Bullets, a vicious and universe-renowned band of assassins and bounty hunters. A head wound sustained during this time caused the virus in her brainship to integrate with the normal functions of the brainchip, rendering to her a small amount of control over her enhanced functions, depending on how much she is able to control her emotions. The integration turned her eyes dark blue.

Post by Rev on Nov 22, 2004 13:34:38 GMT -5
Name: Rev Position: Field Reporter Age: 19 (young, huh?) Race: Human Hair: Short brown hair, combed straight back Eyes: Blue-Green Gender: Male Height: 5'8"
Distinguishing Features: Usually clad in a trenchcoat. Just a boring human here.
Rev isn't going to claim he has an extraordinary background. He doesn't come from another galaxy like Lone or Ayame. He's not a super-strong cyborg or a talking dog. He's just Rev.
However, Rev decided long ago that normal wasn't very entertaining.
In his short nineteen years of life, Rev has taken upon himself to learn a few things. Namely, he has an uncanny knowledge of both scientific and magical topics. For the most part, it was just a hobby: dabbling in rituals, inventing small weapons, etc...But after awhile, Rev found that he could combine the two together to form more useful and more powerful items.
When he was seventeen, Rev met a young man named Terd who was beginning a news program. When Terd explained to Rev about the other crewmembers, Rev was intrigued. A station full of paranormal and intergalactic reporters? The perfect opportunity to develop his own talent. From his studies on the rest of the crew (he doubts they know he's been studying them), Rev has discovered many things that he's sure his coworkers need not know. He's good at keeping secrets.
Recently discovered was the fact that Rev found himself in trouble with a powerful group of magic-users called the Lothians right before his employment. Because of his incessant meddling with magitech, the Lothians deemed him blasphemous and forced him to research the ultimate power of the universe or else perish.
Rev experimented on the only things he had in reach...his friends. The crew eventually found out that Rev was responsible for the virus in Moero's head, the current state of Lone, the undead nature of Tay, and the suicide of Ayame. After a long, drawn out encounter with Hashid, the leader of the Lothians, Rev was freed of their influence and his ability to create magitech was brought to attention.
Besides this, Rev is just a sarcastic field reporter who has the ability to speak profoundly when the moment arises. Rev hasn't the technical capabilities of Tay, nor the piloting abilities of Terd, but he has learned to value his other assets over all others...his friends.

Name: Terd Burgler Position: Anchor Age: 25 Race: Human. Simple as that. Hair: Brown and simple. Eyes: Equally brown and equally simple. Gender: Male Height: 5"7'
Distinguishing features: I dunno. Big eyebrows, I guess.
TB is just a regular guy. Child of an interesting hippie couple, his name was something that he had lived his whole life with and never thought to change it. Despite hardships and difficulties and generally being a social outcast, Terd always kept his head up against all odds. Although he tends to be cowardly, not particularly inteligent, and unusually unlucky, Terd still follows his heart.
Of coarse, Newscast had changed his life dramatically. His early new reports were an immediate success which he did with Ayame the day they met. After that, Terd has held close to Ayame, who, to him, represents all the good things in life. The day he met her, everything went up.
However, there is always something that seems completly irregular about him. He always seems to know somebody in everything, and anybody who's anybody appears to have met Terd at least once in their lifetime. His overall casual approach to social interactions can be baffling, whether it be with the lord off all evil, or a talking lizard. He may not be confident about much, but he does know that he's a good pilot, and has amazing social skills.
Terd's awesome piloting skills and knowledge come from extensive video game experience. After coming into it's possesion during the Alien Saga, Terd has grown increasingly attached to the Redfish 2 and with a little help from Tay, now sports the knowlege and know-how to keep his ship in tip-top shape and at the forfront of spaceship technology.
Despite his overall regularity, Terd always felt there was something more to life, and Newscast is it's living proof. Even an average person with a little determination, hope, and a pinch of bad luck can become something extraordiary.

Post by Tay Mation on Nov 24, 2004 2:06:27 GMT -5
*New Information Regarding Tay!*
Name: Tay Frederick Mation Position: Traffic Age: 19 Race: Undead (formerly human) Hair: Light brown, tousled Eyes: Green Eye wear: Goggles, or a computer monicle that helps monitor traffic. Gender: Male Height: 6' Character Flaws: Tay tends to Babble quite a bit. Especially when flustered, or trying to hide his emotions.
Distinguishing features: I'm dead.. what? You think you got anything cooler?
Tay had just finished up highschool and was in need of a job. He thought an internship would be the best way to go. Unfortunately, Mad scientists weren't looking for any interns, nor Dictator's of the world. One day, Tay happened to see a News show featuring one Terd Burgler. He recognized Terd from a picture his mother had shown him of her brother. Tay quickly tracked down the station for Newscast, and applied for the internship there. Due to his superior technical know how, Tay got the job, and was soon promoted to the completely unrelated area of Traffic.
Later, when a co-worker and dear friend, Ayame, commited suicide. Tay Lost all control of his emotions. (even though he hid it well) and was soon trying to take over the world. This event is what led him to his unfortunate, and untimely death. Now, saved from Hell by his friends, along with Ayame (Also saved from Hell) Tay is back at Newscast, doing what he does best. Inventing, and reporting the Traffic.
The Mystery of Tay's Technological know how is still that, a mystery.. maybe to be revealed in a later story arc.
Currently: Tay is currently building a new ship for Moero.

Sparky was one of 12 puppies and the only one who couldnt talk at first. a couple years later he figured it out in agression towards his other siblings teasings. Though he could now talk he still couldnt walk. His first steps came shortly after he killed his 7th sibling in anger.

Newscast Interns Club!

Post by Khepri on Apr 14, 2006 0:53:03 GMT -5
Name: Khepri Position: Culinary Report Age: mid-20s Race: Stheno'n (A Naga/Gorgon type people) Hair: Technically she doesn't have any. She has "dreadcoils"--basically tentacles or snake tail ends that spill all over her head like thick dreadlocks and are prehensile (they move and pick things up if necessary but she VERY rarely uses them for that purpose). Eyes: Yellow green Gender: Female Height: Usually somewhere in the mid-5 feet range to be more natural to humans. However, with her tail she can reach as high as 15 feet without sacrificing balance (as well as slither on her belly). Distinguishing features: Scales, claws, and fangs. Her scales change colors depending on mood or whim and can blend or stand out garishly if she wants. There really isn't any normal shades or colors or patterns she has.
Khepri is from her home planet but is of the future--a future where Ayame had conquered her planet. After the war, she ends up in Ayame's service as her top assassin, having nothing (and no one) left to fight for save herself and she honestly didn't see it being worth it at the point. Running into Rev on her way to kill a certain rebel leader changes the whole thing.

Just felt that I should mentioned that most of these bio's hasn't been updated in a long time, and since there are new people here who might need to look at these it may be a good idea to update them.
I also want to make sure that all could-become-interns have read through these =P
Doing my part I made quite a big update on Lone. =P

I updated mine, though there is still a lot of info left out simply because it doesn't apply directly to the RP. Some of that info can be found on the wiki. Maybe all of it, I'm not sure. I'll have to go back and check.

((I figured I would do this since she's starting to become more and more of a character anyway.))
Name: AESHA (Artificial Empathy for Super-Human Agility) Position: Navigational Software Age: Approximately 10 Years Old Race: Digital/Hard-Light Hologram Hair: Usually Crimson Red Eyes: Usually Red Gender: Female Height: Usually 5"5'
Distinguishing Features: As a Hologram, AESHA can alter her appearance to whatever she pleases, but her chosen form intentionally reflects the Redfish II's design: Sleek and smooth with sharp features.
AESHA was developed by the Orchis Corporation for the purpose of being a navigational computer on the Redfish II. Once thought to be an impossible task, one of the programmers was able to create an Artificial Empathy for the project, made so that it could feel the emotions of the pilot, understand them and compensate for them. However, the resulting creation turned out to be far more troublesome than they had anticipated. Shortly after her creation, she began to copy her programming throughout the entire system. Before she could get outside the company's network, they shut the system down completely, effectively trapping her inside. With so much invested already in the project, a team of programmers found a way to embed AESHA into the Redfish II without the risk of her escaping by drastically cutting back the functions she could control.
Later, during the Jachrid Rally, Tay discovered the AESHA program on the Redfish II and re-activated it, effectively breaking her out of her digital prison. Shortly after her escape, AESHA began to search the Newscast Studio for some way to project herself into the physical realm and found an Evil Toaster in a closet that just so happened to have a hard-light generator installed (again, thanks to Tay). After taking a physical form, AESHA set out to remove the biggest competition she had for TB's attention: Ayame. During the battle, AESHA's power core was damaged, effectively limiting her strength to that of an average person.
Since then, AESHA has wandered around the Newscast Studio examining the people's daily lives within. As a piece of software with no previous experience interacting with other people, she does not understand common mannerisms, phrases or behaviors of people. Even though she is privy to the effects of emotional influences, she still takes a logical look on the world in an attempt to understand why human beings are the way they are.
She still holds dear to TB, identifying him as her closest thing to a friend during her time trapped inside the Redfish II. Ayame, on the other hand, has become her greatest competition for TB's attention. Without social boundaries ingrained into her by human interaction, she's prone to wild mood swings, the worst of which being the jealous bouts she has when Ayame takes TB away.
