So the disk is able to erase organic and synthetic brains, eh? Hmmm.

Well I don' t know if it so much as erases them, as it puts a false signal in the brain that makes you think what you are experiencing is real, and has always been real (even going as far as giving you a false life) The only way to shut down the signal is to end the game. and there is only one way to do that. course you have to know you are playing a game and what the rules and conditions are in order to be able to beat it.

Ah I see, that is slightly different. And gives me more things to think about.
Okay Tay. Remember how you were stealing guns from Moero's hair to use in your Project? Do you remember how you told me that you did that? Because I don't remember, and it might be relevant.

well we would freeze time, and then use a device that would cast your same signature wave so we could reach into your hair. I guess since the project hasn't been completed yet, we are still doing it when ever we get the chance

So everyone's vying for the pirate on top position, the brainwashed ones anyway? Picking sides at least?

well we are all just doing are own thing. Some are trying to be top pirate, some are just sailing the high seas for fun, and others are mascots. juts remember, the more separated we are, the harder it is for Moero to do her job... what ever that may be. >:]

In this case Blackbeard should be called Mr. Blackbeard because that is so wrong and so right.

I feel I have to explain myself a bit... The reason to why I haven't posted as diligently as I want is that I know exactly nothing of English language used at sea... and hardly any Swedish words words used at sea either =/ I don't know what a First mate is supposed to be doing, I was placed in that position by Tay... I was only planning on being a deckhand outside of battle while on the ship. But I'll try to do my best posting stuff that doesn't contain too much stuff that I know nothing about. I mean, I do know the very basic basics like uhh... port and starboard... (no idea which is right and which is left though) ...rudder and sails, mast and crow's nest... and a few other things... but sea faring has never interested me at all... and I can't muster up the interest to learn what needs to be done or anything now. So you'll have to stand my insipid posts until there's some action =P But I also want you to remember that Lone knows nothing more than me about this, so if you're gonna include him in a conversation revolving naval terms he has to seem oblivious to what you mean =P I wanted to make it so that Shiinto (whom only Lone can hear right now) would know more, but since I don't know anything myself that plan failed xD Well... that's all.

I don't know all that much either. sorry I put you in the first mate position, I actually asked Terd who he'd prefer, an immortal, or some one with quick reflexes. and he picked quick reflexes. But don't worry about it to much, This is kinda like your sports caster position. make it up as you go along, and hope no one notices.

Haha yeah I guess =P It's really strange though... I've seen Hook, PotC, One Piece and I have yet to pick up even one bit of naval stuff xD I guess my disinterest is blocking me =P Pirates are interesting, but ships and stuff aren't =P

I have more information than you ever wanted to know. (thanks to Wikipedia, I didn't know most of this stuff either)
Random words:
Scuttlebutt: the barrel of fresh drinking water. The water wouldn't stay fresh for long in the wooden barrels, so eventually they mix rum in it (to make grog) to hide the rancid flavor.
Captain's daughter: a type of whip (also: bimmy, knittles, cat-o-nine-tails, rope's end, sennet whip, starter, teazer, togey, stonnaky). When a sailor was flogged, everyone on the ship was expected to watch.
Bung hole: Food on a ship were stored in wooden casks. The stopper in the barrel is called the bung, and the hole is called the bung hole.
Keelhaul: a type of punishment in which a sailor is dragged underneath the ship from the front to the back. (also: between the devil and the deep blue sea)
Brass monkey: very cold weather
Holystone: the piece of sandstone the sailors would scrub the deck with.
Ship anatomy:
When you're standing on the deck of a ship, facing forward (to the front), port (or larboard) is left and starboard is right. At night there is a red light on the port side and a green light on the starboard side.
The hull is the part of the ship that's in the water, and basically the whole outside shape. The front of the ship is the bow. The keel is the underside of the ship, the very bottom (hence, keelhaul = to haul someone under the keel). The back end of the ship is the stern (also called aft).
The poop deck or stern deck is the highest deck, at the very back of the ship, on top of the cabin (usually the captain's cabin).
The galley is a deck which is at sea-level inside the ship, where unfortunate people have to row the ship (like on Sparky's ship). Not all ships have a galley. Ships with galleys were generally called "galleys" or "galley ships" as opposed to "sailing ships" which used sails and the wind. Galleys are generally faster and more manueverable, and are therefore more useful in battle.
Confusingly, the kitchen is also called the galley.
Sailing ships always have at least one mast. The masts are usually square rigged. That means the mast has poles attached to it perpendicularly, from which the sails are hung. These poles are called yards and the tips are called yardarms, as the yards are always longer than then sail is wide. It gets complicated from here but suffice to say that the sails are all controlled via ropes.
The living quarters for the officers were on the main deck, located towards the middle/back of the ship. The sailors lived in more towards the front of the ship, usually below deck or in the forecastle which was on the main deck. The sailors slept in a bunch of hammocks all in one room.
The head is the bathroom, it's located at the bow and projects over the side of the ship so that the ocean can wash everything away.
The bilge is the very lowest part inside the ship, where water that got tossed on or leaked through was all collected (to get pumped out eventually).
Life on a ship:
Food and water had to be rationed to make sure they didn't run out before their next chance to pick up supplies.
The sailors are split into groups who work four hours at a time, the time period was called a watch (like a shift at your job). There would usually be two or three groups who would alternate working. The watches are counted out via the ship's bell. (I'm not sure who was in charge of that)
* First watch - 8 pm to midnight * Middle watch - midnight to 4 am * Morning watch - 4 am to 8 am * Forenoon watch - 8 am to noon * Afternoon watch - noon to 4 pm * First dog watch - 4 pm to 6 pm * Last dog watch - 6 pm to 8 pm
Positions:
First mate is a part of the watch with the rest of the sailors, and is also responsible for the cargo (loading, stowing, making sure it's balanced, keeping it safe during the voyage, unloading), the deck crew, the safety (making sure things work properly/fixing things quickly, firefighting, etc) and the ship's security (including being able to foresee impending weather threats). He is second in command. He usually takes the 4-8 watches.
The second mate is a part of the watch. He is the official navigator of the ship and usually the medical officer. He is also in charge of the distress signal equipment. As the official navigator, he is in charge of creating detailed passage plans, including all the procedures for when, where, and how they dock, where they go and how long it should take them to get there, etc. He also is the one who keeps the ship's log. He takes the 12-4 watches. The second mate is in kinda an inbetween spot, he is expected to do a lot of the sailor-type work as well as officer work.
Third mate: takes the 8-12 watches. Maybe he's in charge of the ship's bell.
While on watch, the mates have these responsibilities: navigating, avoiding traffic, and responding to emergencies. For the purpose of the RP, navigating would be done with compasses, stars, the sun, and charts/maps. The mates are like the shift supervisors.
Captain (skipper): The captain is god and is in charge of everything.
Other positions:
Helmsman: the guy at the wheel, steering the ship Lookout: the guy who constantly watches for danger, other ships, distress signals, land, sea monsters, etc. He is supposed to report everything he sees/hears to the first mate. Usually hangs out in the crow's nest/masthead. Pilot: in charge of steering the ship through dangerous areas Cabin boy: general servant/waiter/gopher for the officers and passengers Boatswain/bosun: in charge of ropes, sails and boats. He issues commands with a whistle. Buffer: directly under the bosun, and in charge of discipline. Pusser/purser: in charge of buying everything for the ship Idlers: a general term for crewmembers who don't work on watch, usually have a specific trained purpose ie, cook, surgeon, tradesman, carpenters, etc. General sailors/seamen who work on watch.
